Announcements for May

         Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ! These are the announcements for the    
          month of May:

•       Youth Group meets each Wednesday at 7pm in place of Sunday Bible Study. All students in 6^th-12^th grade are welcome.                                                

•        Prayer Requests- Our prayer team continues to pray for prayer requests. If you or someone you know are in need of prayer, please contact us.

•       Leadership Training- A 10 minute leadership training by the pastor will be held before every committee meeting.

•       May 19- A special Baccalaureate service was held for graduating seniors from Coahoma High School at 1^st Presbyterian Church. It was such a joy to participate with the other churches of  the ministerial alliance in celebrating and honoring our graduates.

•       June 4 thru 6- 2013 Annual Conference in Amarillo Texas at Polk Street UMC.

Announcements for December

Greetings,
These are the announcements for December:

-Youth Group meets each Wednesday at 7pm. All students in 6^th-12^th grade are welcome.                                                
-Coat Closet Ministry- All coats have been given away and we are asking for more to be given to children, youth, & adults. Dairy Queen has partnered with us & will give a soft drink or frozen treat for every coat given.

-Cantata Rehearsal- Sunday evenings at First Baptist Church.

-UMW Christmas Party December 1- At 2:00 pm at Nancie’s home. All women are invited.

-December 9- Baptisms will be taking place as part of our worship.

-December 16- We will be having our Christmas service “Lessons & Carols” and giving fruit bags. Children & youth have a special presentation. All are welcome!

-College & Military Care Packages- Care packages will be put together Wednesday December 5th at 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall. They will be distributed to college students and military personnel.

Advent candles will be lit as part of our morning worship on the following dates:

December 2- The Prophecy Candle or Candle of Hope

December 9- The Candle of Preparation- The way

December 16- The Shepherd Candle or The Candle of Joy

December 23- The Angel Candle or the Candle of Love

Announcements for November

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I want to encourage everyone to continue to give God thanks for all things at all times. Sometimes we get so busy that the only time we thank him is when we are reminded to do so. Let us continue to thank God in all that we do, that he may be glorified! Please continue to pray for all that were affected by the hurricane!

These are the announcements for the month of November.

-          Youth group meets each Wednesday at 7:00 pm. All students in 6^th – 12^th grade are welcome.

-          Prayer list: we will continue to send out text messages to our prayer team and pray for any needs or requests.

-          Coat Closet ministry will receive coat donations to be given away to those in need.

-          November 6: UMW meets.

-          November 14: Our church Thanksgiving meal fellowship at 6:00 pm.

-          November 18: Crystal River singing group will be ministering in the morning worship service at 11:00 am.

-          November 18: Community Thanksgiving service at the Presbyterian church of Coahoma at 7:00 pm.

-          Thank you to all that participated in the Harvest Festival! It was a huge success!

-          Food or monetary donations are being accepted for a Thanksgiving basket that will be given away to a family in need.

Announcements for October

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
We added the use of screens in our worship this past Sunday. We are truly grateful for the donations that were given towards the purchase of the video system. The system included two 55 inch TVs, a laptop, software for running the hymns and backgrounds on power point. Praise God! We look forward to glorifying Gods precious name with all that we are and all that we have!

These are the activities that will be transpiring this month:

-Youth Group meets each Wednesday at 7:00 pm. All students 6th thru 12th grade are welcome.

-Prayer Group will continue to pray as requests come in.

- Training for power point volunteers.

- October 15th: Bucket List meets at 6:30.

- October 22: Charge Conference at 5:30.

- October 31: Harvest Festival at 6:00 pm.

Announcements for September

Greetings in the name of out Lord Jesus Christ!
I am happy to announce that we have purchased the equipment for the provision of screens in the church sanctuary. What a blessing to continue to implement technology in furthering the gospel of our Lord! We are very excited to be a part of the "Healthy Church Initiative" program as well. Following are the different activities that we will be involved in for this month. 

-September 1- Communion & prayer for Birthdays & Anniversaries

-September 4- UMW meeting

-September 9- Special Sunday morning service commemorating 9/11

-September 16- A special "Celebrate You" Sunday morning service with a potluck lunch following the worship service. "Crystal River" singing group will be in concert at 2:00 pm after our lunch fellowship. A special love offering will be taken during the concert. Everyone is welcome!

-September 30- "Healthy Church Initiative" meets at FUMC Big Spring from 3:00 to 4:00 pm

Announcements for July

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
July is a busy month for most families as preparations are made for family vacations, and trips. Our prayer's are that God be with everyone as they travel. We extend an invitation for anyone that would like to come and worship with us. We welcome you with open arms! These are some of the things that have happened or will happen here at our church this month.

- Youth Group meets every Wednesday at 7 pm. All students in the 6th thru 12th grade are welcome.

- Grief Share and Divorce Car group counseling- Call to speak with Pastor Sammy if you or someone you know is in need of Christian counseling due to a loss of a loved through death or divorce.

- A prayer team is in the works.

- UMW met on July 3rd.

- Our children's Sunday school is having sidewalk Sunday School across the street from the church at the city park from 10am to 10:45am every Sunday for the month of July.

- Our church children and their Sunday School teacher participated in the July 4th Parade celebration.

- July 8 we had a time of worship with different songs by different people from within our congregation.

-Wednesday Bible Study- Study on “Life’s Healing Choices” series at 6:30 pm.

-Group Study- Grief Share & Divorce Care. If you know anyone that has gone through the loss of a loved one or through divorce, please let them know that we can provide Christian counseling at no charge. (Speak with Sammy).

-May 6- Trustees meet at 2:00 pm & Worship committee meets at 3:00 pm.

-May 12- Eagle Scout Court of Honor at 2:00 pm.

-May 14- Pre-annual conference meeting at FUMC Lamesa at 6:30pm.
