Announcements for September

Greetings in the name of out Lord Jesus Christ!
I am happy to announce that we have purchased the equipment for the provision of screens in the church sanctuary. What a blessing to continue to implement technology in furthering the gospel of our Lord! We are very excited to be a part of the "Healthy Church Initiative" program as well. Following are the different activities that we will be involved in for this month. 

-September 1- Communion & prayer for Birthdays & Anniversaries

-September 4- UMW meeting

-September 9- Special Sunday morning service commemorating 9/11

-September 16- A special "Celebrate You" Sunday morning service with a potluck lunch following the worship service. "Crystal River" singing group will be in concert at 2:00 pm after our lunch fellowship. A special love offering will be taken during the concert. Everyone is welcome!

-September 30- "Healthy Church Initiative" meets at FUMC Big Spring from 3:00 to 4:00 pm

Announcements for July

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
July is a busy month for most families as preparations are made for family vacations, and trips. Our prayer's are that God be with everyone as they travel. We extend an invitation for anyone that would like to come and worship with us. We welcome you with open arms! These are some of the things that have happened or will happen here at our church this month.

- Youth Group meets every Wednesday at 7 pm. All students in the 6th thru 12th grade are welcome.

- Grief Share and Divorce Car group counseling- Call to speak with Pastor Sammy if you or someone you know is in need of Christian counseling due to a loss of a loved through death or divorce.

- A prayer team is in the works.

- UMW met on July 3rd.

- Our children's Sunday school is having sidewalk Sunday School across the street from the church at the city park from 10am to 10:45am every Sunday for the month of July.

- Our church children and their Sunday School teacher participated in the July 4th Parade celebration.

- July 8 we had a time of worship with different songs by different people from within our congregation.

-Youth Group meets each Wednesday at 7pm. All students in 6^th-12^th grade are welcome.                                                
-Wednesday Bible Study- Study on “Life’s Healing Choices” series at 6:30 pm.

-Group Study- Grief Share & Divorce Care. If you know anyone that has gone through the loss of a loved one or through divorce, please let them know that we can provide Christian counseling at no charge. (Speak with Sammy).

-May 6- Trustees meet at 2:00 pm & Worship committee meets at 3:00 pm.

-May 12- Eagle Scout Court of Honor at 2:00 pm.

-May 14- Pre-annual conference meeting at FUMC Lamesa at 6:30pm.

Announcements for January

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus! Here are a few things that have happened or will take place this month.

- PPRC met January 1st at 2:00 pm.

- January 15th- We celebrated the dedication of a new Cross and Flame placed on the church grounds. One of our youth lead the project as the completion of his Eagle Scout project. It was a great service. If you pass by the church, you can't miss it!

- January 18th- Bucket List committee met at 6:00 pm.

-Youth Group meets each Wednesday at 7pm. All students in 6th-12th
grade are welcomed.

-Coat Closet outreach ministry
Coat donations are now being accepted. Any size from Elementary to High School new
or used. Dairy Queen will also be giving a treat for every coat that will be
donated towards this cause. Much needed coats have been placed on children and a few adults. We will continue to provide this ministry as a means to help those that are in need. If anyone would like to volunteer to lead coat closet ministry please speak to the pastor.

Wednesday Fellowship Meal & Bible Study- Teaching
series titled “Prayer, A Guide to Communion With God.” Speak with Amy for more
information. Starts at 6:30 pm.

United Methodist Men- Invitation for ministry. Please let the
pastor know if you are interested.

February 12th- Valentine’s Day meal prepared by
the men of the church.

Announcements for October

- Youth group meets each Wednesday at 7 pm. All students in grade 6-12 are welcomed.

- Coat Closet Outreach ministry will continue to receive coat donations any size from Elementary to High School.

- Fellowship Meal & Bible Study every Wednesday at 6:30. The series will be held from the book, "The Bait of Satan."

- October 2 meetings: Worship Committee meets at 3:30 pm, Finance Committee meets at 4:30 pm, and Administrative Council meets at 5:30 pm.

- October 4 the UMW will meet at Mona's home at 9:30 am.

- October 5: Charge Conference at 5:30 pm.

- October 16: Laity Sunday

- October 30: Harvest Festival will begin at 4 pm with games, face painting, hayride, pie-in-face, maze, crafts table, and cake walk.
